Volunteering
We support charities, community groups and social enterprises to recruit, support and manage volunteers. We also host Go Volunteer Glos, the online home of volunteering in Gloucestershire.
Go Volunteer Glos
Go Volunteer Glos enables organisations across Gloucestershire to promote and showcase their volunteering vacancies to thousands of potential volunteers in the county. The online platform links people aged 16 and over to volunteering opportunities from a variety of organisations and features opportunities in Gloucester, Cheltenham, the Cotswolds, Forest of Dean, Stroud and Tewkesbury.
Once signed up, organisations can upload their volunteer and trustee vacancies for free. They can also:
- Create bespoke volunteering applications.
- Register multiple administrators from your organisation.
- Embed your opportunities on Go Volunteer Glos into your own website.
- Participate in webinars and other specialist events hosted by our Go Volunteer Glos team.
- Access back-office tools to support you managing and communicating with your volunteers.
- Access analytic data to measure impact and gain valuable insight.
- Benefit from the coverage that Go Volunteer Glos has to reach a wider pool of potential volunteers.
- Receive personalised support from Go Volunteer Glos team.

Learning and development opportunities
We provide a range of learning and development opportunities for organisations needing support to recruit, manage and support their volunteers.
We also offer specialist training for trustees. This includes our suite of online Trustee Bank and Trustee Refresher Programme training videos.
Throughout the year we offer training & events for individuals responsible for managing and supervising volunteers, trustees and leaders within VCSE organisations. You can find out more about upcoming opportunities on our training & events page.
Employer supported volunteering (ESV)
In 2024, the Gloucestershire Volunteering Collaborative launched a comprehensive new guide, toolkit and case studies covering all the things that local organisations need to know about ESV. The guide is designed to help employers to understand the benefits of ESV for their companies, employees, and the local community. You can download your free guide and find more useful tips and resources on the Go Volunteer Glos website.
We also work with local businesses to connect them with employer supported volunteering opportunities and to develop relationships with local causes that matter to them. If you're interested in finding out more about this work, please
Join us
Our members work together to make lasting, positive change within local communities. Membership is free for VCSE and statutory organisations delivering services in Gloucestershire. By joining us, local organisations become part of a wider community and are able to access a range of enhanced benefits above and beyond our usual fully-funded support. You can find out more on our membership page.
Work with us
We're always looking for new ways to collaborate and work in partnership with colleagues from the VCSE and statutory sectors, as well as local business. If you're interested in working with us and would like to explore this in more detail, please
