We have around 5000 WI members in Gloucestershire in 145 WIs stretching from the Cotswolds to the Forest of Dean and from the Severn Vale to the Stroud Valley.
Gloucestershire Federation of Women’s Institutes is a large group of institutes, stretching alongside both sides of the River Severn. We have been in existence since 1919 and now have around 140 active WIs and just short of five thousand members.
The Institutes vary greatly in character and size, they are a mix of urban and rural, some were formed early in the twentieth century others much more recently. Our membership shows a similar range of age and interest, there is something for everyone.
