• The Educational Opportunity Foundation  

    Funding amount and term: from £30,000 to £90,000, available for one to three years. 
    Funding for: projects centred around care-experienced young people (under 25 years old) with the aim of improving their educational outcomes and life chances. 
    Who can apply: UK registered charities with an income normally between £25,000 and £2.5 million. 
    Funding priorities: funding is between 25% to 100% of the total project costs, but preference will be given to projects with some degree of matched funding.

  • The Free Hospital Trust Fund for Children 

    Funding amount and term: up to £3,500. 
    Funding for: the benefit of sick and suffering children who reside in Gloucestershire.   
    Who can apply: charities, schools and not-for-profit organisations. Any practitioner engaged in Social & Health and Education servicesworking with children and young people can submit a claim form direct to the Gloucester Early Help and Targeted Support Team on behalf of a child, young person or their siblings. 
    Funding priorities: families where parents/children have significant health problems, who live in poor housing where domestic violence issues are present and/or where children have physical, emotional or social problems.

  • The Haramead Trust

    Funding amount and term: £5,000 or more.
    Funding for: the relief of poverty, the welfare of children, the elderly and those with special needs, education, health, medical assistance, homelessness and social welfare.
    Who can apply: voluntary organisations and charities.
    Funding priorities: as above.

  • The Masonic Charitable Foundation Charity Grants programme 

    Funding amount and term: small grants of up to £5,000 and large grants from £10,000 to £60,000 for up to three years. 
    Funding for: babies and children up to five years; children affected by domestic abuse or requiring special educational needs or who have disabilities; plus people with dementia and their carers.  
    Who can apply: small grant programme - charities whose annual income is between £25,000 and £500,000; large grant programme - charities whose annual income is between £500,000 and £5 million. 
    Funding priorities: early years, special educational needs and disabilities, domestic abuse and dementia.

  • The Miss Kathleen Beryl Sleigh Charitable Trust

    Funding amount and term: between £2,500 and £20,000. 
    Funding for: projects with children and young people, the elderly, people with a disability, as well as music and cultural organisations. 
    Who can apply: charities. 
    Funding priorities: as above.

  • The Pixel Fund

    Funding amount and term: between £2,500 and £5,000.
    Funding for: supporting mental health and wellbeing of children and young adults, aged under 26-years-old.
    Who can apply: UK registered charities.
    Funding priorities: projects that make an impact as above.

  • The Prestbury United Charities 

    Funding amount and term: not specified. 
    Funding for:youth groups, school equipment and families needing support with white goods and furniture/clothing.
    Who can apply: individuals, groups and societies can apply for support for those in need who live in the areas of Cheltenham with postcodes beginning GL50, GL51, GL52 and GL53.  
    Funding priorities: preference will be given to residents of the ecclesiastical Parish of Prestbury Gloucestershire, Swindon Village and Southam. 
    Any other information: the trustees meet usually every month to discuss the applications for grants.

  • The Yapp Charitable Trust 

    Funding amount and term: up to £3,000. 
    Funding for: running costs for charities that focus on at least two of the following areas: elderly people, children and young people, people with physical impairments, learning difficulties or mental health challenges, social welfare or education and learning.  
    Who can apply: registered charities with a total annual expenditure of less than £40,000. 
    Funding priorities: people who are educationally disadvantaged. 
    Any other information: trustees meet three times a year to consider applications.

  • Wooden Spoon

    Funding amount and term: up to £5,000. 
    Funding for: projects enhancing the lives of children and young people who are disadvantaged physically, mentally, or socially. 
    Who can apply: schools, charities, and clubs with a legal status. 
    Funding priorities: projects must fall within Wooden Spoon’s Vision Statement: “Through the power of rugby, every child and young person has access to the best life opportunities, no matter what their background”.

  • Youth Hostel Association’s Breaks Programme   

    Funding amount and term: unclear. 
    Funding for: children, young people and families living with challenges in order to tackle the inequities that prevent participation, break down barriers and ensure access for all. 
    Who can apply: charities, community groups and home education network groups based in England and Wales can apply for support to fund a break to a YHA hostel. 
    Funding priorities: as above. 
    Any other information: see web link above. 
    Deadline: currently closed - please check the YHA website from November 2025 for updates.
