Our friends at Home Start Stroud and Gloucester drew our attention to Workforce Wellbeing in Charities, a report published by AVECO and Mental Health England.

The report acknowledges that working in the voluntary sector can be demanding and requires deep resilience. It highlights charity CEOs need to recognise how they can support greater workforce wellbeing and that charity leaders need to pay attention to their own mental health if they are to thrive.

The main findings are under these themes:

  • What makes it tough: vulnerability of charity staff
  • Impact on leaders
  • When the ground shifts – adapting to a changing operating environment
  • Governance and strategy
